7 Steps To Stay Young - Serj

When we were 16 years old we could not help but to want to get older so we could get our own place; our own job; our own car; and the list goes on. Now that we have all of those things we look back and wish we could have the bodies that we had when we were 16. Ironic as that is you are not the only one that feels that way and thus this list is created. Although we can not lead you to believe that you will look 16 again and yet if you follow these practical steps they will delay you from looking or feeling 100.


1. Quit Smoking

It can not be overemphasized how important this step is. If you were to do one thing that drastically impacted how your physical body looks 5 years from now then at the very least quit smoking. Quitting smoking is perhaps one of the most difficult things to do, I know, I went through it myself. What helped me finally quit was that I loved doing something more than smoking and I asked my spouse if she would allow me to do it if I could quit smoking and so she agreed. She signed up for this thing and was the only one who knew the password for it. I then told her that if I smoked she should take this thing away from me. This worked, I haven't touched a cigarette since, I just quit "cold turkey." This may or may not work for you. If you are interested in quitting smoking there are several resources available to help you quit.


2. Quit Doing Drugs

When we talk about quitting to use drugs, we are not referring to the illegal drugs like marijuana, methamphetamine, heroin, etc. everyone knows not to use those. When we say quit using drugs then we are talking about your over the counter drugs. Drugs like your painkillers, sleep aids, and antacids are sometimes necessary however if they are taken on a daily basis they will cause you to deteriorate. If the pain is insignificant try skipping that pain pill. If you can avoid taking the sleeping pill, avoid it. The chemicals that are in those pills destroy your body over time. Often the reason for the pain or the inability to sleep is able to be resolved in a better alternative method. A common over the counter drug is alcohol. Although we do not say that alcohol is bad, in fact some research proves that wine can be healthy for you if it is done in moderation. Alcohol in excessive amount can be literally devastating to a human body yet in moderation it should not cause much of a negative effect or may even be helpful.


3. Exercise

Exercise has an amazing effect on your body. The very first reason to exercise is that it rebuilds your muscles. Your body is very smart. It creates what you use and gets rid of what you don't use. Therefore if you spend all of your time sitting in from of the TV or computer then you use very little of your muscles and so the body starts deteriorating your muscles because it does not need them. When you are working out you start rebuilding your muscles. This is also true for other organs such as your lungs when you engage in cardiovascular activity. Second thing that working out does is it gets rid of the unnecessary and sometimes bad elements that are in your body. By sweating your body is able to "exhale" all of the negative elements that are inside of you. This also includes your body converting your stored fat into energy thus getting rid of those "love handles." The third thing that is a by-product of exercise is the automatic confidence that is built within yourself.


4. Eat healthy

Eating healthy is along the same lines as exercise. Perhaps one of the most common reasons that I hear people eat unhealthy foods is the cost of purchasing good food. My question to you then is if your health is unimportant enough that you are willing to intake foods that are harmful for you then what is? Always opt for foods that are organic. Non-organic foods are supplemented by chemicals that the scientific community of the whole world is concluding as this being the biggest cause of cancer. We ask why is cancer so prevalent now but was not so much just 50 years ago...it is because of our daily food. I will implore you to please eat organic food whenever possible. Also buy a water filter that filters your drinking water. Often such a filter costs less than $50 and lasts several months and yet it gets rid of all the chlorine and other harmful chemicals that are in your tap water. If there is one change that you make that perhaps causes the most impact for your health it would be to get a water filter. A report by the U.S. Cancer Institute states that "Drinking chlorinated water may as much as double the risk of bladder cancer." Now isn't a $50 investment insignificant when you compare it to how much of a benefit is provided to you and your family?


5. Stop tanning or at least use sun screen

The American Academy of Dermatology states that without protection from the sun’s rays, just a few minutes of exposure each day over the years can cause noticeable changes to the skin. Freckles, age spots, spider veins on the face, rough and leathery skin, fine wrinkles that disappear when stretched, loose skin, a blotchy complexion, actinic keratoses (thick wart-like, rough, reddish patches of skin), and skin cancer can all be traced to sun exposure. Any tanning booth usage will cause acceleration of skin aging as well. Those people who tan on a regular basis might have some of the same skin aging in their 20's that would normally show up in a person 50 years old or older. You can protect yourself by applying sun block that guarantees protection from ultra-violet rays before doing any activity that involves being exposed to the sun for longer than a few minutes.


6. Take Vitamins and Supplements

Vitamins, Green Teas, Fish Oils all of these products should be taken through out our whole life. It is amazing how well these supplements help to protect our bodily functions such as the immune system, eyesight, hearing, touch, taste, and sharp brain activity are all maintained and enhanced by providing the body with the necessary nutrients it needs to function correctly. There is a plethora of information available on how vitamins benefit your body in the aging process. Just type in vitamins and aging in your favorite search engine.


7. Anti Aging Products

In our technologically advanced civilization scientific breakthroughs are occurring on a daily basis, it seems. One that you may have likely used yourself is some form of an anti-aging cream. whether it is exfoliating, rejuvenating or any of the the other creams designed for epidermal treatment. One that is most recently a phenomenon is the discovery of use of human growth hormones for treating aging issues. It shows tremendous possibilities, especially for those who are 40 years old and older. These products can effect you in countless ways so it is to your benefit to further research them and the possibilities that they can have for you.

Staying young is the reality that most people hope for and there are some things that you can do to help you with that. Yet the bottom line is that you should enjoy life while you are living it. If we were determined to live making sure that we looked as young as possible for as long as possible, we would stay inside all of the time, we would constantly be covered in some kinds of creams and constantly watching what we do and what we eat. This is not always possible and is certainly not a glamorous way to live so you should consider what you read here and try to implement them as you can. The more that you can implement the younger you will remain but you also want to make sure that you are staying young so that you can live and not living to stay young.

How Much Protein Should You Eat Every Day?

Everyone knows that protein is an essential part of your daily diet, and meeting a minimum protein level throughout the day is vital for having the energy you need as the day rolls on. Some people, however, are unaware of the fact that there is also such thing as having too much protein in your diet, because your body doesn't know what to do with excess protein and this can cause more harm than good. Having excess protein in your diet can cause just as many harmful effects for your health as not getting enough protein can. If you are increasing your protein intake but your calorie intake or exercise habit is not increasing along with it, you can actually put your body through more stress than it needs or than it can handle for that matter.

Your body requires protein on a daily basis in order to repair and build your muscles along with other vital body tissues. Protein allows your body to create the hormones that it needs for optimum health, and to make the enzymes that are needed for metabolic and digestive processes. If you do not consume enough protein on a daily basis, your body may turn to your muscle instead, breaking it down to find the energy it needs.

Proteins are comprised of amino acids, which are essentially building blocks, and there are somewhere around twenty different amino acids, some of which are actually created by your body. There are nine different amino acids, however, that cannot be synthesized by the body, and these are known as essential amino acids. The only way to get these essential amino acids is by eating whole foods that contain them. It is vital that you eat a variety of different protein foods every single day so that your body can get all of the essential amino acids that it needs.


There are a number of excellent whole food sources of protein that offer all nine of the essential amino acids, including meat, turkey, fish, eggs, chicken, cheese, milk, soy and yogurt. You can also find some, but not all, of the nine essential amino acids in plant food sources such as beans and peas and other legumes, nuts, peanut butter and some seeds. If you are a vegetarian, then it is vital that you find the right balance of whole food plant sources including vegetables, legumes, seeds, nuts and grains in order to get all of the essential amino acids that you need.

The amount of protein that you need is dependent upon your age, the size of your body, and how active you tend to be, or how much energy you burn throughout an average day. Most teenagers, for example, need between 40 and 50 grams of protein per day. The best way to get an estimate of how much protein you need is to take your weight and multiply it by about 0.40, and you will have the number of grams of protein that you need for a day. So if you weigh 150lbs for example, and you multiply that by 0.40, you will need 60 grams of protein every day for optimum health. This is just an estimate however, and there are a number of characteristics that will impact this number, such as whether or not you are an athlete or play sports.

Many of the whole food sources of protein are excellent at delivering the protein that you need. For example, fish, beef, chicken and shrimp can provide as many as 21 grams of protein per 3 oz serving. A single cup of yogurt can provide 11 grams of protein, and cooked lentils and tofu can provide 9 grams of protein with only a half cup of food. Other excellent sources for protein include bulgur, kashi, oats, millet, cooked egg, hummus, soy milk, cooked beans, cheese and cow's milk. There are a number of different protein supplements that come in the form of bars, powders and shakes. Usually though, most people get their much needed protein, rendering these supplements unnecessary in most cases. But if you need to put more protein into your diet, make sure your protein supplement contains several forms of protein (not just whey protein) AND the protein includes an enzyme additive for protein digestion. This will ensure your body can digest the protein and you acheive maximum benefits from taking the supplement.

I understand the problem when someone says they burned their warm market and have no where else to turn for I've been there and done it. I made a list of 200 names (actually more) and called all of them followed the directions of my upline and leaders and burned through my entire list without having any success. This appears to be the common situation that is found in network marketing. However, it certainly does not need to be this way. You can achieve MLM sucess with the RIGHT MLM training.

When people reach this point in their warm market, they turn to extreme measures. They seem to try to buy leads, go to free lead generator websites and do cold calling. I have news for you - these never work and you are wasting your time and money on them. After a while most will quit the business because their confidence has already been reduced during their negative reaction of their warm market.

There is only one way to generate leads once you have burned your warm market and that is to turn to the internet to generate leads. But how? It is simplier than you think.

Now, I will not be popular with most MLM companies when I ask you to turn to the internet for most MLM companies have a tendency to ONLY EMPHASIZE warm market and refuse to understand any other method. Well, I have news for you....that sucks because that method is broken.

There is a CORRECT method of generating leads through the internet and it is important for you to find it. Thank God for MLM Outlaws for they are the best which is on the internet to help youi in this matter.

Blogging, writing articles, doing videos on youtube and other outlets are important in generating leads for your MLM company but I suggest you learn how to do these things well though you feel you cannot. As Tim Sales says, "Just get the "hard" out of the way. Confront what you're not good at and get good at it."

How To Instantly Lose 1-2 Inches Off Your Waist Line - Ed Scow

No, I'm sorry my subject line has nothing to do with magic fat burning pills or the latest gadget found on late-night infomercials.

But that is the most common question I get, not only from clients but from everyday people who have found out I'm a personal trainer.

"How do I get rid of this...quickly?" It's usually asked while grabbing a hold of a little goo sitting on the tummy.

The proper answer is that it takes exercise and better eating habits, but there is a quicker answer that may surprise you.

All you have to do is learn to control your abdominal, low back and butt muscles and you will instantly lose a couple inches off your stomach.

It's not really magic, it's just learning to use proper posture while sitting and standing.

Today's population has horrible posture. I see it everyday, not only in my training studio and massage clients, but just from "people watching".

Everybody is slouching with rounded shoulders, flat butts or they let their gut hang out which gives them a big curve in their lower back.

That's why I am constantly telling my training clients to keep their tummies tight while doing their workouts.

The ladies in my boot camps can attest to this. I'm constantly harping on them to keep their tummies tight.

I can tell when they are and when they aren't, because their stomachs will shrink by a couple inches when they keep their stomachs tight and controlled.

It's probably the easiest thing you can do, right now, to make your stomach shrink. Not only that, but your body will feel better.

When you have poor posture, or let your stomach muscles get too relaxed, your body has to work harder to keep you upright. That means you'll get tired easily.

Not only that, but you won't perform as well in your day-to-day tasks. All because of poor posture.

So here's what you can do right now, while reading this, to help remedy the situation.

Sit up straight, or stand up straight. Lift your chin up so you're looking straight ahead.

Pull your shoulders back by squeezing your shoulder blades together. Lift your chest up and relax your shoulders so you're not all hunched up.

Now contract your abs like someone is going to punch you in the gut. Not too hard, just enough that you know they're tight.

Now, if you're someone who lets their gut hang out, creating a nasty curve in your lower back, I want you to tighten your glutes (butt) and "tuck your tail under" so that your stomach comes back and that curve in your low back goes back to normal.

If you've done this right, you should look like a soldier standing at attention.

There's a reason soldiers look so fit and intimidating when they're standing at attention. They're using perfect posture (plus they're in damn good shape). They're standing upright without any hunches and are not letting their guts hang out.

Practice this routine multiple times per day until it becomes routine.

Not only that, but when you're exercising, concentrate on keeping your stomach tight. You will be amazed at the results you see in the mirror. Actually, that's another good tip. Practice this in front of a mirror.

You, and the people around you, will think that you have lost 10 pounds.

Get A Grip On Fatty Acids - Lisa Nelson

Unless you have been living under a rock, you have probably heard the term fatty acids. But, do you understand what they are and how the right ratio will improve your heart health? I intend to clear up the confusion.

There are numerous types of fatty acids. I am focusing on omega 3 and omega 6.

Unsaturated Fats

Omega 3 and omega 6 fatty acids are both unsaturated fats. To improve cholesterol levels, you want to replace the saturated fats (i.e. lard, shortening, ice cream, cheese) in your diet with unsaturated fats.

What does "omega" mean?

Most of you are familiar with the saying "alpha to omega", in other words, beginning to end. The "omega" indicates which carbon has the first double bond on the carbon chain when you start counting from the omega end. For omega 3, the first double bond is on the third carbon from the omega end of the carbon chain. I know you were wanting to review a little biochemistry today!

Essential Fatty Acids

Omega 3 and omega 6 fatty acids are also essential fatty acids.

Essential fatty acids are necessary for cardiovascular health, but our body cannot synthesize them. You can only obtain essential fatty acids through the foods you eat.

Omega 3 (Linolenic Acid)

To keep things simple, I am going to use the acronyms ALA, EPA, and DHA. These are all types of omega 3 fatty acids. If we consume a food containing the omega 3 fatty acid ALA, our body will convert it to EPA and DHA. Studies have shown a link between EPA, DHA, and heart disease. More studies are needed to understand ALA's relationship.

Sources:

Oils - Canola oil, Soybean oil, Flaxseed oil (good source of ALA)

Seeds and nuts - flaxseeds, walnuts, pumpkin seeds, Brazil nuts, sesame seeds

Vegetables - avocados, some dark leafy green vegetables (kale, spinach, mustard greens, collards)

Fish (good source of EPA and DHA) - salmon, mackerel, sardines, anchovies, albacore tuna, lake trout, herring

Omega 6 (Linoleic Acid)

I am going to throw in more acronym's - GLA and AA - omega 6 fatty acids. Linoleic acid is converted to GLA and on into AA by the body. Researchers are finding indications of a link between GLA and EPA, in relation to heart health and reduced blood pressure. High intake of sugars, alcohol, trans fats, and various other factors can inhibit the conversion from linoleic acid to GLA.

Sources:

Oils - Sunflower oil, corn oil, safflower oil, soybean oil, cottonseed oil, flaxseed oil

Seeds and nuts - flaxseeds, pumpkin seeds, pistachio nuts, sunflower seeds, pine nuts

Meat - chicken, beef

For optimum heart health, the ratio between omega 6 fatty acids and omega 3 should be between 1:1 and 4:1. A practical example of what a 1:1 ratio means, for every 3 ounces of beef you eat, you would need to eat 3 ounces of tuna (I do not mean in the same meal!). The ratio for the typical American diet is 11:1 to 30:1. This poor ratio is linked with heart disease, among several other health issues.

Bottom Line:

For heart health, increase your intake of foods containing omega-3 fatty acids, while cutting back on omega-6 fatty acid sources. For example, switch from corn oil to canola oil, increase the number of meals you eat that contain fish each week, and grab walnuts instead of pistachios.

Keep away from fried foods especially deep-fried as they contain a great amount of fat and whilst fish and chicken appear leaner than beef, this white meat can contain more fat than when beef is fried.

People on very low fat diets should grill the majority of their meals as much less fat is retained in the food if any at all. Some people believe you should give up eating carbohydrates but without them in your diet you will not have any energy to exercise and by definition lose weight. Using a weight loss plan like this will mean that if followed correctly then around a pound a day will be lost, depending on the individual but it must be said that failure to maintain this level of 1,000 to 1,500 calories per day will ensure the weight will be put back on.

There has been controversy about the star fruit recently. One Malaysian citizen got comma after eating the star fruit and this news spread all over the country very fast.

Why is this happened? As we all know, all fruit bring benefits to our body and the doctors are also recommended it. Fruits are known contain vitamins and minerals that needed in our body.

Eating Out And Losing Weight

One of the hardest things in the world to do is eat out at a restaurant when you are trying to lose weight. Losing weight is all about burning more calories than you consume and when you are not the one preparing the meal, you are often eating higher amounts of calories than you thought would be in a given serving. In order to stay strict with those calories, there are a few tricks to eating out and losing weight.

* Choosing a salad. The salad section of a menu can seem like the safest place to start. But, salads in a restaurant setting are not like the salads you prepare at home. These are often laden with extra calories from the bacon bits to the cheese, the tortilla strips to the dressing. Two tablespoons of blur cheese dressing alone contains 150 calories. If a salad is on your mind, choose the side salad with lemon juice and use this as a starter for the meal.

* Eating from the kids menu. The kids menu offers smaller versions of the adult menu. But, these choices are often larger than a traditional portion you would serve yourself at home. Kids menu options are also most often deep fried and full of the wrong kinds of fats. Staying away from the kids menu is a great choice whenever dining out and trying to lose weight.

* Choosing chicken. Chicken is a safe choice in many restaurants as long as two simple rules are followed. Do not choose the battered version and do not eat the entire serving. A serving of chicken should only be the size of a deck of cards. This can be added to the garden salad to make for a light and healthy salad while dining in a restaurant.

* Flavored tea. Many restaurants are now serving flavored teas as a part of their menus. These teas can be appealing and there are just tea, right? Wrong. Many of the mango, raspberry and strawberry teas are flavored with sugared syrups and can contain more calories than a can of sugared soda. Ask how the teas are flavored before ordering.

* Choosing low carb. Unless you are on a low carb diet, the low carb menu should be avoided at all costs. Losing weight by counting calories is about just that, counting calories. Low carb options will contain fewer carbs but more fat and calories than many other options on the menu.

* Soups. Soups are another no-no in many restaurants. This is especially true for creamed soups. If soup is a must, ask for the nutritional data on the soup before ordering. Then, choose the soup with the lowest calorie count. And, always remember, you do not have to finish the entire bowl.

Losing weight and eating in a restaurant can be accomplished easily and without starving for that burger next to you. If the meal out is a planned one, eating a snack high in fiber before heading off to the restaurant is the best choice. The fiber will keep you feeling full and you will be less likely to order that huge meal sure to bump you off the weight loss track.

When you head to the grocery store, shopping for products like eggs, meat, fish, milk, and produce can be very tricky. Signs are posted everywhere labeling food as natural, organic, and a number of other things—but what’s the difference, really? Learning what specific names mean can help you decide if you should shell out extra money on a product of it is simply a marketing ploy.

Natural is a turn associated with a number of fruit and vegetable product. Typically, this is simple a marketing ploy to convince you to buy the product. After all, all fruits and vegetables are natural, right? Unless it’s a new kind of food that has been developed and processed, the product is natural. What you really probably want is organic. Organic foods are grown without chemical pesticides and fertilizers. There are two main benefits to organic foods. First, you are helping the environment because those chemicals are not being introduced into nature. Secondly, you are avoiding ingesting chemicals and are therefore healthy more healthy foods. What the labels really mean is that no hormones were unnaturally given to the animal, which is sometimes done to increase milk production. Regardless of hormones, however, the milk and meat is safe for a person and not a violation of an animal’s rights.

Lastly, a label on eggs and meat can indicate if the animal was caged or penned. This does not make a difference in the quality or nutritional value of the meat, but is simply a matter of animal rights. These products may be a bit more expensive, but if you want to make human decisions, that is the way to go. Reading the label and making healthy choices can sometimes be difficult, but learning how to do so can help you make the best choices for you diet.

1. Do not starve your self.

The key to a healthier way of losing weight is: Do not diet.

2. Start your day right.

3. Eat small, healthy meals frequently.

Keep your target sensible. In the long run, it is virtually impossible for you to lose 30 pounds in 2 weeks ,that is unless you want to make yourself really ill ! Have a mindset that you want to eat healthy for the rest of your life.

Once you have decided on a weight loss plan or program, stick to it and make sure that you follow your own set of dieting rules.

5. Drink lots of water.

It does not matter how much weight you plan or need to lose. What is important is that you set realistic goals for yourself.

Go slow. If you have already lost 5 or 6 pounds, give yourself a break then try to lose the next 5 pounds.

Eat healthy, drink lots of water, have enough sleep and exercise. Do this and you'll lose weight more easily and improve your health. Finally do not become obsessed with weighing yourself. If you are motivated to reduce belly fat without doing sit ups, you will need to start by having your diet under control and working out with aerobic exercise and weight training up to two times per day. To reduce belly fat you must lose weight all over your body, unfortunately we cannot spot reduce and just have a flat belly on a fat body.

Here are 5 exercises to reduce belly fat without doing sit ups. Add these exercises to your normal exercise routine.

Leg circles. Lie on the floor on your back. Bring your feet in so that both feet are flat on the ground with knees bent at 90%. Keeping your back flat and your stomach muscles tight, bring your right leg up to the ceiling. Use your foot to 'draw' small circles on the ceiling, moving only your leg, not your hips or spine. As you get better draw larger circles. Repeat in the other direction and switch legs.

One hundreds Lie on the floor on your back. Bring your legs up so that your feet are pointing about 45 degrees from the floor. Bring your hands to your thighs with your arms straight. Raise your body up off the ground so that you are holding your back straight and looking straight ahead. Your weight is evenly distributed between your knees and your forearms. Contract your stomach muscles and Hold for 15-20 seconds. For more of a challenge, straighten your legs and hold your body off the floor from your toes and forearms. Remember to keep your stomach tight for the entire exercise and breath This move is similar to doing crunches. Lie on the floor on your back. Bring your feet in, so that your knees are bent at 90% with your feet on the floor. Bring your hands to your thighs with your arms straight. Pull your abs in tightly, holding your belly button to your spine and lift head and shoulders of the ground. Keeping your back on the floor, press your hands up and down,

Scissors. This is a great exercise to reduce stomach fat without doing sit ups. Lie on the floor on your back, prop yourself on your elbows with your arms bent at 90 degrees. Have your legs straight. Contract your stomach muscles, pulling your belly button to your spine and bring one leg straight up so that it is about 1 foot from the floor. Quickly alternate legs, breathing with each change. Repeat for 20 seconds, do not rush this exercise, take it slowly and be mindful of breathing and keeping your stomach muscles tight.

Basically, there are four common skin types: oily, dry, combination, and normal. The way your skin reacts and behaves classifies the type of skin you have. Skin types react in different ways to creams and/or lotions, environment, and weather. The skin on your face is the great point to categorize type of your skin.

Here are four skin types that you should know:

1. Oily Skin
Skin may look oily, sallow, and coarse; it has large pores and tends to have pimples, blackheads and whiteheads. The texture of skin is thick; the touch is often sticky. It is usually youthful-looking due to the presence of oil on the skin. Besides that, within hours of cleansing the oiliness will reappear and makeup is usually absorbed quickly. Often, individuals with this skin type have a propensity to develop acne in their teen and middle years.

2. Dry Skin
This skin type has a transparent looking and fine texture. It may lack natural oils, may look rather flaky with small pores, blackheads and blemishes. It feels particularly dry after cleansing and may have whiteheads around the eyes and dry patches. Without sufficient moisture, this skin type can simply become chapped. It’s more likely to become wrinkly than other types.

3. Combination Skin
This type can be characterized as oily on the T-zone (forehead, nose and chin) and the rest of the face, cheeks and around the eye, is dry. However, to restore both areas to balance, they need a separate cleansing routine.

4. Normal skin
If this is your skin type you are very lucky, because less than 20% of women have this skin type. It is the "healthy" type of skin. It’s smooth, soft, and supple; not too dry, not too oily, characterized by few blemishes, and has a nice glow. Nevertheless, this doesn’t mean that you don’t have to take care of it.

1. Cleanse your face, and wait for an hour, without applying any skin care product to it.
2. After that, take a tissue and wipe each of the following areas of your face: your forehead, nose, chin, and cheeks.

If oil appears on the tissue, then you have oily skin. But, if skin particles can be seen on your skin, or remain on the tissue, then you have dry skin. Other than that, If you see oil in some areas (T-zone: forehead, nose and chin), and none in others, then naturally you have combination skin. And, if you don’t find oily residue or flake is left on the skin, you have normal skin.

6. Avoid Stress
