5-Star Gold Standard rating

USANA flagship Essentials and HealthPak 100 nutritional supplements rate 'best of the best' out of 1,600 products evaluated in Canada and United States.

USANA Health Sciences, a leading global health supplement manufacturer, once again received 5-Star Gold Standard ratings for its nutritional products in the much-anticipated 4th and latest edition of the NutriSearch Comparative Guide to Nutritional Supplements.™

Author Lyle MacWilliam MSc, FP, a former biochemist and educator, released the 1st edition of the guide in 1999 to help consumers make informed, scientifically based decisions about nutritional supplements. The latest edition features detailed comparisons of more than 1,600 products based on a blended standard created from published recommendations of 12 nutritional authorities and 18 rating criteria developed from scientific literature.

USANA's Essentials and HealthPak 100™ products both received 5-Star Gold Standard ratings and the NutriSearch Gold Medal of Achievement™. USANA is no stranger to this recognition as similar high ratings were given in the first, second and third editions of the guide.

According to the comparative guide, companies that receive 5-Star Gold Ratings must meet the "highest standards of quality in research, formulations and manufacturing." The guide also noted that companies awarded the NutriSearch Gold Medal of Achievement™ have gone to considerable expense to meet and exceed the most stringent of manufacturing standards. USANA was one of only four companies rated this highly and asked by publishers to include a company description within the latest edition of the guide.

Sensé™ Self-preserving Technology is a Skin-care Industry Breakthrough

USANA received an official patent(U.S. Patent No. 7,214,391) on May 8 from the United States Patent and Trademark Office that guarantees proprietary rights to the self-preserving technology used in Sensé skin- and personal-care products.

The patent covers USANA’s formulation for manufacturing Sensé products so that they are capable of maintaining their shelf life without the need for added chemical preservatives. The products are “self-preserving” in that they don't require traditional chemical preservatives to maintain their shelf life.

Traditional skin-care manufacturers must use common chemical preservatives in order to keep their products from spoiling. Sensé patented self-preserving technology combines proprietary blends of purifying botanicals in protective liquid crystals to keep the product fresh naturally, so skin can receive all the benefits of pure and healthy ingredients.

USANA EXPANDS GLOBAL PRESENCE BY OPENING 13th MARKET IN MALAYSIA


USANA opened its new office in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia in early 2007.

With a population of more than 25 million people, Malaysia offers an excellent opportunity for growth. According to the World Federation of Direct Selling Associations, Malaysia is one of the top 15 markets for direct selling, with approximately $1.4 billion in annual sales. The country has one of the longest-established network marketing industries in Asia; and it is by far the largest direct selling market in Southeast Asia.

Malaysia has a beautifully unique and diverse culture. Driven by an export-oriented economy, the country has seen tremendous progress over the past few decades. USANA is confident that Malaysia will significantly add to its increasing strength in Asia.

The launch of the Malaysian market has been an exciting new step in USANA's global growth strategy. Thousands of new Associates and Preferred Customers have already enrolled, and USANA anticipates tremendous growth in this market. An official grand opening celebration is scheduled to take place at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center on June 23, 2007.
